Nutrition in Oncology – The Way Forward (Video)
A Nestlé Nutrition Institute Satellite Symposium held at the 37th ESPEN congress, Lisbon 5 – 8 September 2015, explored current understanding of the nutritional needs of cancer patients across a spectrum of disease states and types.
In a holistic assessment of the area, speakers discussed the prevalence of malnutrition, anorexia and cachexia in cancer patients, the underlying mechanisms, the potential to improve clinical practice through adherence to targeted guidelines, emerging intervention strategies and studies into how nutritional approaches can adapt to evolving surgical techniques.
